Name origin
The first "du" in "Dudunsparce" could be seen as a botched abbreviation for "double" so the full name could be seen as short for "Double Dunsparce" in reference to it possessing twice as many of most of Dunsparce's features in its own design.
- Also, just a personal opinion for fun and possible food for thought, but the pronunciation of its name does have you come dangerously close to making an onomatopoeia for the drum sound effect that's played after the punchline for a joke is told (badum-tss/dadum-tss) and could be seen as a subtle meta passive-aggressive way of saying that the joke is on Dunsparce and anyone who expected more out of its evolution than "it's just Dunsparce but bigger" or "it's just Dunsparce with more of its body parts?" Not as obvious as with Sneasler, but still...- unsigned comment from Steev (talk • contribs)
- Those two are quite large stretches. The "du" is not enough to say it's from double, and the drum thing is too speculative and feels too opinionated, and seems too based off disappointment from fans about its design.--ForceFire 01:43, 23 November 2022 (UTC)
