Origin
Do we seriously not know what it's based on? It's two of the Honedge, honedge is a sword in a scabbard, so this is obviously two scabbards with swords in them. ★☆Togetic45☆★ 19:18, 25 September 2013 (UTC)

It seems that it is actually one scabbard that holds two swords, not the other way around. Also I agree that it kind of resembles a coat of arms as well. Doublade's Korean name is 쌍검킬 Ssanggeomkil.
- 쌍(雙) ssang: pair, couple, twin
- 검(劍) geom: sword
