Talk:Burn (status condition)
Burn Page
Not really sure why there is a page for Burn, but not for Poison, Paralysis, etc. Why is this page here? -I Liek Gengarz! Do Joo Liek Dem? 21:40, 10 December 2010 (UTC)
- Freeze also has a page, why they have pages I don't know, but I do not agree with removing the page, rather someone should create pages for the other status ailments. XVuvuzela2010X 21:51, 10 December 2010 (UTC)
- They have pages because, as you can see, they have too much related information to include all in the Status ailments page. And the other ones aren't there because they haven't been created... So create them if you want to! But yes, they should probably be created soon, as it's weird some status ailments have their own pages. Memo326 23:07, 10 December 2010 (UTC)
- Yeah, it would be helpful to make pages for the other status ailments, just to take some of the weight off from that page and move the detailed info to new pages. -I Liek Gengarz! Do Joo Liek Dem? 22:34, 15 December 2010 (UTC)

Burning Fire-types.
Can you burn Fire-type the same way you can poison Steel- and Poison-types? (eg. evolving, like Eevee into Flareon, or changing type via Soak and then inflicting a burn.) Marked +-+-+ 20:43, 20 February 2012 (UTC)
- Yes. Immunities only prevent infliction; if it already has a status then gains an immunity, it is not cured. --SnorlaxMonster 12:15, 21 February 2012 (UTC)
Burn Marker
It asks for a picture of a card with a burn marker on it, but would an image of a burn marker itself not suffice? And the Poison page doesn't have an image of a poison marker, so do we really need it at all? RuBoo, THE DESPISED 23:57, 31 May 2012 (UTC)
- It's not necessary but it would be nice to have, same with on the poison page, a burn marker by itself would also suffice though. --Spriteit 05:05, 1 June 2012 (UTC)
- I have an unpunched sheet of damage counters, could I scan and upload that and put it on the pages, or should I isolate the burn and poison markers before uploading them? RuBoo, THE DESPISED 21:08, 1 June 2012 (UTC)
- If you scan and upload them, that would be great, as far as to how you should do it. Isolated would probably be best, but if you can't that's fine, it's still something to work with.--Spriteit 01:32, 2 June 2012 (UTC)

Does Burn really halve the Attack stat?
I was going over the Complete Damage Formula and it seems Burn is not applied to the stat. It's a factor in the damage formula.
"The effect of a burn is directly taken into account in the damage formula. First, the game checks if the attack is physical, then if the user is burned, and finally if its ability is different than Guts. If all conditions are satisfied, the current damage is divided by 2 with no rounding."
Should the article still say that Burn halves the Attack?- unsigned comment from V4Victini (talk • contribs)
- I did the calculations and if you halve the attack stat instead of halving damage at any point in the attack stat modification, the damage result you get will be wrong.
- 31 Atk IV 252 Atk EVs Neutral Nature Burned Aggron's Head Smash vs
- 31/31 HP/Def IVs 252/252 HP/Def EVs Neutral Nature Gliscor
- Damage is halved:
- Damage Numbers: 74 75 75 76 78 78 79 80 81 81 83 84 84 85 86 87
- Attack Stat is halved:
- Damage Numbers: 75 75 76 76 78 79 79 81 81 82 84 84 85 85 87 88

No image??
Can somebody use this image to mark the Burn status ailment on Diamon/Pearl? I've tried and nothing happens... File:BurnDiamondPearl.png Somebody who does it will gain my respect. --Blinx9999guizar (talk) 20:00, 7 December 2012 (UTC)
