Talk:Black Bolt & White Flare (TCG)
This page covers both sets as they are companions released together, but we should really have 1 page for each expansion. There are also no sources, we should use the following for the respective pages: - https://www.pokemon.com/us/pokemon-tcg/scarlet-violet-black-bolt - https://www.pokemon.com/us/pokemon-tcg/scarlet-violet-white-flare
@Maverick Nate I'll tag you in as editor-in-chief, I don't have the ability to create pages!
This should be separate pages

- The decision was made at the time of the sets' announcement that as they were clearly intended as a paired release--later backed up by many press releases, website posts, social media posts etc. mentioning them both at the same time--that they should be listed on the same page. This is also in line with how we have always handled Japanese expansions made up of two subsets, and we did the same for the Japanese versions of these expansions prior to their international announcement. - Ah thanks for the reply, that's interesting! While I'd advocate for them being separate (so that the information can be closer tied to the source pages), I understand its not my decision, but I wonder is there a standard for 'cards in set'? I've seen some with separate values and some with a total value between the 2 sets Jamie-379 (talk) 21:09, 27 January 2026 (UTC)
- I think we can definitely still make use of those source pages here; the Information section currently includes a paragraph about the pair of sets, but we could also perhaps add a paragraph with more specific details about each individual one.
- As for "cards in set" - this is definitely something we need to standardise, as like you pointed out, it's shown differently on different pages. It's only in the past 18 months or so that we've actually started having separate pages for English and Japanese sets, so as we start to work on splitting and reformatting previous pages at some point in the future, that's definitely something we can look to standardise. - I mean I also would strongly agree that we would be much better off having them as seperate pages (unlike say video games, they are seperate products that don't have the same overlap), but as was stated by Cipher, this was an editorial decision made at the time of the page creation. 4iamking 08:48, 28 January 2026 (UTC)
