Verifiable proof of character overlap?
Do we really know for sure that Henry's Urshifu is the player's Urshifu in the games? As far as I can recall, this sort of page overlap doesn't exist in the case of other Pokémon in the manga, so if nothing else this just feels like a weird case of odd categorization to me. (Mostly the fact that this page is in "Category:Sword and Shield characters" rather than "Category:Pokémon Adventures characters (Pokémon)" and is currently not included in that category at all.) - On that note, why is it listed as both Mustard's Urshifu and the one given to the player? Eragon4 (talk) 15:57, 23 February 2026 (UTC)
- Looking at the page history, it appears that someone tried to remove the mentions of Mustard's Urshifu once before, but their edit was undone because "It's an Urshifu owned by Mustard. It counts". I think this is flawed reasoning, because it was no longer under Mustard's ownership when it evolved into Urshifu.
- I was gonna say that equating it with the player's Kubfu/Urshifu is fine, since it's received in the manga under basically the same circumstances as the games. However, after doing some research, other manga Pokémon that are received under basically the same circumstances as the games just have that fact mentioned as a trivia point at best (see Togebo, Fofo, Salamè). On the other hand, Reg is equated to Palmer's Regigigas, so maybe that means we should keep the page as is. I dunno.
- Regarding the categorization, the page not being categorized as "Pokémon Adventures characters (Pokémon)" is fine - Pokémon owned by Pokédex holders get put in the "[Trainer]'s Pokémon" category, which is a sub-category of "Pokémon Adventures characters (Pokémon)". They're not included in the category directly. Storm Aurora (talk) 18:18, 23 February 2026 (UTC)
- I think for the sake of consistency, as being a manga Pokémon received under roughly the same circumstances in the games, it should be a trivia point. Reg being equated to Palmer's Regigigas makes sense enough to me because the player doesn't typically receive that Regigigas. BittersweetVICTORY (talk) 20:27, 23 February 2026 (UTC)
- Condensing the "in the games" and "in the TCG" headers into a trivia point sounds good to me. Storm Aurora (talk) 02:37, 24 February 2026 (UTC)
- Yeah. Should we keep him in the "Sword and Shield characters" category or drop him to the manga-exclusive categories? The SWSH category itself rejects Henry and Casey, though for some reason includes Marvin. I think he could probably get the same treatment as Arman in this case, no? - Drop the Sword and Shield characters category from Arman, but Marvin can stay in it. After all, the reason he's named Marvin (Manabu in Japanese) is because there's a Schoolboy with that name who can be battled in Sword and Shield. Storm Aurora (talk) 18:58, 26 February 2026 (UTC)
