I put in the section that items can be received even with Giratina in the room, because in my Pokémon Diamond, I didn't catch Giratina and I can pick up items that are hidden behind him. But in my Pokémon Pearl, There is no item behind Giratina. I just found that out when I went to battle him in Pearl yesterday.
