Anyone know if the move increases the actual base power or just the final damage output. For example, if one helping hands an ariel ace used by a technician pokemon, does it still receive the boost from technician or does the 50% boost increase the Base power to 90, thus negating the boost? :I'm not really sure, maybe you could test!? If I understand [https://veekun.com/dex/abilities/technician veekun] correctly, they say Helping Hand's power boost applies before Technician is checked (as does {{m|Defense Curl}}'s boost for {{m|Rollout}}/{{m|Ice Ball}}). {{de|Techniker|The German PokéWiki}} agrees, and explicitly say that this was different prior to Generation V; veekun seems to say the same. Based on [http://www.smogon.com/bw/articles/bw_complete_damage_formula this Smogon guide], however, I believe in Generation V, Helping Hand's boost is in fact not considered for Technician (but Defense Curl is).
