Dewgong (Pokémon): Difference between revisions

Dewgong is a quasi-quadrupedal {{wp|Sea Lion}} Pokémon, which lives on icebergs adrift in frigged waters, as well as glaciers on land. Its face has two black eyes with no visible scalera, a black button-nose and two downward facing tusks extending from its upper jaw. It has a streamlined body with two front flippers, and a long flowing tail. Even in extremely cold and ice packed waters, its tail allows it to be a swift and agile swimmer at speeds of {{tt|8 knots|9.2mph/14.8kph}}. On top of its head is an extremely sharp protrusion, which gives it the ability to cut and plow through even the thickest of ice floes.

It actively thrives in lower temperatures, becoming increasingly more active the colder the weather gets. By storing thermal energy within its snowy-white, fur-covered body, it is completely unharmed by even the most intense {{a|Thick Fat|freezing weather}}. Its white coat also renders it virtually invisible to predators when in snowy conditions. During daylight hours it sleeps on bitterly cold ice or under shallow water; however, at night when the temperature drops it becomes a hunter and searches for prey. Native populations can be found in the [[Seafoam Islands]] of the [[Kanto]] region, as well as parts of the [[Sinnoh]] region. Rarely, it has also been found within [[Unova]]'s [[Giant Chasm]] and the [[Seaside Cave]].
