:Steven specializing in Steel-type Pokémon is openly stated (for example, see his Trainer's Eyes or Match Call). Alder is never stated to specialize in Bug-type Pokémon. The current ordering we have appears to be from left to right. But it is unofficial, and the closest thing to an official ordering is the order described on the statue at the Pokemon League (which goes Shauntal, Marshall, Grimsley, then Caitlin.
