Well, both have sharp claws that are made of metal (especially Excadrill who is also part Steel-type). Swords are made of sharp metal. Also, excalibur was pulled out of a rock (earth) by king Arthur. :Claws are vastly different to swords. Rock is different to earth, which is very clear in Pokémon, with a distinction between {{t|Ground}} and {{t|Rock}}. I wouldn't say that its metal features resemble a knight's helmet. Mining companies is not a very strong basis (there is also a mining company named ExcaDrill, but we don't include that in the name origin). --[[User:SnorlaxMonster|'''Snorlax''']][[User talk:SnorlaxMonster|'''Monster''']] 12:18, 9 February 2011 (UTC)

Excalibur is a sharp metal object that pierced a stone --> mining --> drills. As for Excadrill's metal features not resembling a knight's helmet, that's just your own opinion, not a fact. Anyway, all of this is very likely coincidental but there is no way to prove or disprove that the localization team purposely included the word "Excalibur" in their names. Therefore, just flat out denying there is no connection at all is downright silly. '''*~Darklight~*''' 20:22, 16 February 2011 (UTC)
