Raikou, Entei and Suicune are considered the city's protectors. In the film, [[Shiny Pokémon|shiny]] versions of the trio had sensed the city was in danger while Zoroark was destroying it in illusions of its destruction, and race to Crown City to defend it. After Zoroark broke free of her prison after she had been recaptured by Kodai, the legendary beasys appear before Zoroark and began attacking her, believing her to be responsible for the city's destruction. When the misunderstanding is resolved thanks to the local wild Pokemon who live in the city, the legendary beasts aid Zoroark in the final battle against Kodai.
