(Japanese: ゼクロムへの道The Road to Zekrom) is the sixteenth chapter of the Pokémon RéBURST manga.
Plot
A long road forms in front of Ryouga making him remembers Rend's instructions. He realizes that this is the world inside the Burst Heart and Zekrom is at the end of the path. Filled with excitement, he starts running, but is shocked to find the road crossing an abyss. Despite knowing what will happen if he falls from here, he persists, where the road becomes more treacherous as he goes. Along the way, Ryouga grows hungry having not eaten anything that day, just then he finds a fruit hanging from a tree growing out the side of the road. He takes a bite, but finds it bitter and sweet taste unpleasant. Suddenly, the road around the tree breaks, making Ryouga dash as the road continues to crumble. He manages to avoid falling, panting to catch his breath. At that moment, it begins to rain, making him wonder if there is an end to this road.
At the Chabio Dojo, Ryouga's friends watch over him, wondering if he is going to be okay. Miruto notes how it has been a week since his consciousness entered the Burst Heart. Rend remarks that as long as Ryouga is having nightmares, then he is still okay, saying that this is proof that he's fighting through hardships to meet Zekrom in there. Yappy counters that if he gives up or fails then Ryouga will not be able to return. He reassures the two that Ryouga will be back, as he is Garyu's son. Miruto asks what was Garyu like, Rend answers that he and Garyu fought against Great Gavel long ago. Miruto informs him that they've dealt with them as well. Rend says that Great Gavel tried to rule the world with the power they gained from Pokémon. He notes that they grew so large that his group was about to succumb to them, but Garyu did not give up. Rend presumes that he is still out there fighting for peace somewhere in the world, with all of his strong ideals. Hearing this reminds Miruto of Ryouga's convictions, and agrees that her friend will be fine.
In the Burst Heart, Ryouga is exhausted having gone days without rest. He stumbles and nearly falls off the road, but manages to grab the edge and climb back. He thinks to himself that he might not meet Zekrom and how impossible this is. However, he steels his resolve, and shouts that he can do it. After this, he sees a massive door materialize in front of him. He starts pushing it, presuming that Zekrom is behind it. Once it opens, he finds a boy a black robe and asks where Zekrom is. The boy tells him that Zekrom does not want to see him.
