(Japanese: レンドという男The Man Called Rend) is the fourteenth chapter of the Pokémon RéBURST manga.
Plot
A furious Ryouga and Miruto head to Chabio Town, figuring out that Yappy is trying to sell the Compass of Light. Meanwhile, Yappy faces Rend, failing to convince him that he is not a Burst Warrior. Just then he hears Ryouga calling his name, relieved that he is going to be saved, only to be kicked in the face. Yappy manages to convince Ryouga that he did it to protect it from Hariru instead, much to Miruto's annoyance.
Rend reminds them of his presence and states that he has been waiting long enough. The three back away, which Miruto guesses that he his Burst is a Boldore. Rend is ready to fight 3-on-1 if he has to, but Ryouga proclaims that he will be his only opponent and Bursts. He lands a punch right on his face, but it barely had any effect. Rend then slams him into the wall, remarking that an incomplete Burst form he has, and starts punching him again and again.
Ryouga stops one with his head and lands a punch. This impresses Rend, calling him Garyu's son. Ryouga questions how he knows his dad's name, but Rend notes that this is still a fail and lands one final blow, knocking the boy into the ground. Rend undoes his Burst, telling the boy if he wants to get stranger, then he has to come with him.
