(Japanese: ポッチャマとはじまりのカバン Pochama and the Bag of Beginnings) is a Pokémon manga illustrated by Megumi Mizutani. It was published daily on the official Project Piplup X (Twitter) account from November 14 to 19, 2021. Each chapter is two pages long.

It was announced on November 13, 2021.[1]

A limited physical volume of the manga was distributed through a campaign.[8][9] Customers who purchased two eligible Pokémon games for the Nintendo Switch from Amazon.co.jp during the campaign purchase period would receive a serial code to enter a lottery. During the serial code entry period, participants would select one of two courses on the lottery campaign website and enter the serial code for a chance to win original goods. 1,000 winners were drawn. The campaign was provided by MAXGAMES.

  • Serial code distribution period: from February 14, 2022 at 12:00 AM to February 20, 2022 at 11:59 PM JST.
  • Serial code entry period: from February 14, 2022 at 12:00 AM to February 28, 2022 at 11:59 PM JST.
  • Winners would be notified by the shipment of their prizes. Prizes were scheduled to be shipped at the end of March 2022.
Eligible titles

The seven eligible games were Pokémon Brilliant Diamond, Pokémon Shining Pearl, Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl Double Pack, Pokémon Legends: Arceus, Pokémon Sword, Pokémon Shield, and Pokémon Sword and Shield Double Pack.

If Pokémon Sword, Pokémon Shield, or Pokémon Sword and Shield Double Pack was purchased from Amazon.co.jp before the lottery campaign period, a serial code would be received for purchasing one of the other four eligible titles. Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl Double Pack and Pokémon Sword and Shield Double Pack would count as one title each. Sets that included the eligible games were also eligible. Pokémon Sword + Pokémon Sword Expansion Pass and Pokémon Shield + Pokémon Shield Expansion Pass were not eligible. Only physical copies of software were eligible. The campaign was only valid for products sold by Amazon.co.jp; purchases made through Amazon Marketplace, Amazon Outlet, Amazon Fresh, and Prime Now were not eligible for the campaign.

During the serial code distribution period, an email containing instructions on how to apply for the campaign and the serial code for the lottery would be sent to the email address registered to the customer's account from Amazon.co.jp. One email would be sent for each serial code. One serial code would be distributed for every two titles purchased. Applying twice with the same serial code would disqualify it from the lottery.

Original goods available by lottery

For each serial code, one of two courses could be chosen: Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl or Pokémon Legends: Arceus. Each course would draw a different prize and have 500 winners. All 1,000 winners would also receive a physical volume of the manga.
