The Forest of Reversal (Japanese: さかさむのもり) is the eighth book in the Pokémon Daisuki Tales series. It is an interactive book written by Creatures and illustrated by Sumiyoshi Kizuki. This book and its narration are in Japanese, and it has received an English translation. It is 24 pages long.
Plot
Pikachu and Squirtle enter their favorite forest discussing what they plan to do that day, unaware of a Pokémon watching them. The Pokémon tries to greet them, but neither of them hear it, causing it to grow sad before remembering something and running off into the woods. While the two consider finishing their game of tag from yesterday, they notice the Pokémon of the forest are acting strange - Slowpoke is busily collecting berries, Exeggcute's six eggs are separated, Floatzel is struggling to swim, Hitmonlee and Hitmonchan have swapped fighting styles, and Seviper and Zangoose are happily playing together. They ignore them when they call to play, leading the two to realize they're acting the opposite of how they usually act. They ask Lopunny - who now doesn't care about getting dirty - who tells them that everything became reversed after the mystery Pokémon ran off into the woods, inspiring Squirtle and Pikachu to search for them. They find a forked path in the woods, following the path with footsteps deep into the forest. Lopunny tells them that the Pokémon flew off with incredible speed, however the reversal effect has caused her to say the opposite of what she means. Pikachu and Squirtle find a Linoone stuck running in circles, and when they try to talk about the Pokémon that did this, they speak backwards. After reaching the deepest part of the forest, the two find the culprit - a Mr. Mime who created a giant mirror and pulled the forest into a mirror world, hoping to create something interesting enough that everyone would want to be their friend. Squirtle says that they don't need that and invites Mr. Mime to play tag, Mr. Mime getting rid of the mirror and returning the forest to normal.
