Oshawott Park (Japanese: ミジュマル公園 Mijumaru Park) refers to two parks in different cities of Japan's Mie Prefecture that predominantly feature Oshawott. The parks were constructed as part of the Pokémon Local Acts initiative, which appointed Oshawott as the representative of Mie Prefecture in December 2021.[1] It is the fifth Pokémon to have a park constructed as part of this initiative, after the Sandshrew Park in Tottori Prefecture.
Both parks feature a large tower with a giant Oshawott at the top overlooking the park that doubles as an indoor area which can be scaled. Once visitors reach the top, they can descend the tower through one of two slides. The other attractions present at the park differ between the Toba and Suzuka locations - the Toba park features a Dewgong see-saw and zipline, while Suzuka's park features an Oshawott see-saw, an Oshawott race-car attraction and a Pikachu-themed park bench. A short manga booklet Let's Protect Nature! Pokémon Ranger was released as a part of the promotion for the park.
Connectivity with Pokémon GO
In Pokémon GO, the encounter rate of Oshawott will be increased when visiting the park until August 15, 2025. Additionally, once a day, when taking a GO Snapshot in the park, an Oshawott surprise encounter will appear until August 15, 2027.[2]
