Naoyo Kimura

Naoyo Kimura (Japanese: 木村(きむら)直代(なおよ) Kimura Naoyo; born 1960[1]) is an illustrator for the Pokémon Trading Card Game. Her first cards were Seel, Zapdos, and Graveler from the Japanese Expansion Sheet Series 2. Her first cards released in English were the Wizards Black Star Promos Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres released alongside The Power of One. She is notable for creating illustrations for the Neo Series and the Southern Islands promotional set.

Besides contributing artwork for the Pokémon TCG, Naoyo Kimura illustrated multiple books from Pokémon Tales picture book series including Come Out, Squirtle!, Seel to the Resuce!, Beroringa Licks Everything, Fly On, Butterfree, Dragonite's Christmas and Don't Laugh, Charizard. For the 2023 "Pokémon x Van Gogh" art collaboration, Kimura contributed illustrations of Pikachu and the evolutionary lines of Honchkrow and Corviknight, inspired by Vincent van Gogh's Self-Portrait with Grey Felt Hat and Wheatfield with Crows, respectively.
