The Mic Test (Japanese: マイクテスト Mic Test) is a feature in Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver, Pokémon Black and White, and Pokémon Black 2 and White 2 which provides an interface for testing the microphone on the Nintendo DS and Nintendo DS Lite.
It was originally added in Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver as a hidden title screen function that is activated by pressing the X, Y, and ↓ buttons simultaneously. In the Generation V games, it gained an entry in the main menu.
A similar function was included in the settings of the Nintendo DSi system software and the Nintendo 3DS system software; therefore, the Mic Test became unnecessary and is no longer available starting in Pokémon X and Y.
