Mewtwo (Japanese: ミュウツー Mewtwo) is a Psychic-type Basic Pokémon card. It was first released as one of the Wizards Black Star Promos.
Card text
Flip a coin. If heads, choose a basic Energy card attached to 1 of your opponent's Pokémon and attach it to another of your opponent's Pokémon of your choice.
Choose 1 of your opponent's Pokémon. This attack does 30 damage to that Pokémon. Don't apply Weakness and Resistance for this attack. (Any other effects that would happen after applying Weakness and Resistance still happen.)

Release information
In Japan, this card was available with artwork by Ken Sugimori on a Special Limited Expansion Sheet that could be purchased at venues hosting the 7th Next Generation World Hobby Fair. The World Hobby Fair took place at the Fukuoka Dome, Fukuoka on December 7, 1997; at Makuhari Messe, Chiba on January 10 and 11, 1998; at the Kyocera Dome Osaka, Osaka on February 1, 1998; at the Sapporo Community Dome, Sapporo on February 8, 1998; and at the Nagoya Dome, Nagoya on February 15, 1998. These venues also hosted the regional Lizardon Mega Battle tournaments on the same dates. It was later reprinted as one of a selection of cards included in the Pokémon Song Best Collection CD, released on January 1, 1999.
The English version of this card was released through Nintendo Power magazine in April 2000, with Magic: The Gathering illustrator Christopher Rush providing new artwork. The English print was also released in Japan as a promotional card and awarded to passengers for completing the silver course of the JR East Pokémon Stamp Rally 2000, which was held on the network between August 1 and 20, 2000. This print was later reprinted in the Legendary Collection.

- The artwork change between the English and Japanese prints may have arisen due to the similarity of the Japanese artwork of this card to that of the first promo Mewtwo, as both are modified from Sugimori's Generation I stock art.
- As the Japanese version of this card was originally distributed as part of an Expansion Sheet, it, along with Pikachu and Mew, are often regarded as unofficial additions to the Vending Machine cards collection, dubbed "Series 00".
- In the manga adaptation of the second movie, this card is owned by Lawrence III.
Origin
Telekinesis is a move later introduced in the Generation V Pokémon games that Mewtwo can learn via TM19. This card's Pokédex entry comes from Pokémon Red and Blue, though it is slightly reworded.
