Rulings

The order of operations for Mega Zygarde ex's "Nullifying Zero" attack goes as such: the player chooses one of their opponent's Pokémon and flips a coin to check for whether or not Nullifying Zero deals damage to that Pokémon.[1] This process repeats until all the opponent's Pokémon have been checked, and then damage is dealt.

  • The player must first choose one of their opponent's Pokémon before flipping the coin for Nullifying Zero; they may not retroactively assign a coin flip result to an opponent's Pokémon.[2]
  • The player may check their opponent's Pokémon for Nullifying Zero in any order (eg. checking the Active Pokémon first before the Benched Pokémon). This order does not affect the final outcome of the attack.[1][2]
  • All damage from Nullifying Zero are placed simultaneously after each Pokémon has been checked via the coin flips.[2]
    • If an opponent's Shaymin with the "Flower Curtain" Ability is in the Active Spot and its Nullifying Zero check results in heads, all of the opponent's Benched Pokémon (except for Pokémon with a Rule Box) are still protected by "Flower Curtain", as all damage are placed simultaneously before any checks for Knock Outs happen.[2]

Trivia

Origin

This card features Mega Zygarde. The special illustration rare print of this card also features Zygarde's 10% Forme, 50% Forme, and Complete Forme, as well as several Zygarde Cells. The Nullifying Zero attack shares its Japanese name (ムニキスゼロ Munikisu Zero) with the Japanese expansion in which Mega Zygarde ex was first released.
