Release information
This card was included as both a Regular card and an illustration rare in the Obsidian Flames expansion, first released in the Japanese Ruler of the Black Flame expansion. The Regular print features artwork by KYUPIYAMA, while the illustration rare print features artwork by Miki Tanaka. A Cosmos Holofoil variant of the Obsidian Flames Regular print was made available in the Tyranitar ex Premium Collection, which began to appear in stores around mid-November 2024.
In mainland China, to celebrate the opening of the Pokémon TCG Official Gym in Zhongguancun, Beijing on January 30, 2026, a special promotional version of the regular print of this card, stamped with the store's logo, was available to customers who spent CN¥99 or more. 30,000 were available on a first-come, first-serve basis.[1]
