Jumbo Carddass W
Jumbo Carddass W (ジャンボカードダスW), most commonly referred to as the 1996 Jumbo Carddass Cards is a set of six jumbo Pokémon cards released December 1-10 1996 by Bandai.[1] Japanese sources have rubi on the W indicating that it is just pronounced "double", a reference to the alternate front-side of the card that is revealed when its sticker is peeled off.
The cards are jumbo size, measuring 21cm × 14.5cm, much larger than a normal Pokémon card.
When the stickers on cards 1-3 are peeled, the displayed Pokémon "evolve" to their next form. The remaining three cards display additional hand-painted art below the stickers. The art in the Jumbo Carddass Double set is watercolor in the same style as Pokémon Carddass Part 3 & 4 and is one of the very few sets to share its artwork. Just as in the Part 3 & 4 set, the 1996 Jumbo Carddass features Pokémon with traits that became extinct, for example a Charizard with only one horn. This is an artifact of Pokémon's lack of complete standardization in its early days.
