Release information
This card was included as a Regular card and a Full Artillustration rare card in the Phantasmal Flames expansion, first released in the Japanese Inferno X expansion. The Regular print features artwork by Jerky, while the Full Art illustration rare print features artwork by Ryota Murayama.
In Taiwan and Hong Kong, this card is reprinted as a Traditional Chinese M-P Promotional card with new artwork by Oswaldo KATO, and is included in a promo card pack available for winning 3 or more "New Expansion Battle" matches from October 9 to 30, 2025. Participants have to battle using at least 4 Pokémon cards from the Inferno X expansion.[1][2] The Traditional Chinese M-P Promotional print is released internationally as an MEP Black Star Promotional card and was one of the Prerelease promos for Phantasmal Flames, available in the Phantasmal Flames Build & Battle Box. A print with a gold foil "Staff" stamp was given to those overseeing Prerelease Tournaments.
For the "Sandy Flapping" Ability: if a Pokémon with this Ability is Knocked Out by damage from an opponent's attack that requires the opponent to draw cards (eg. Mega Sharpedo ex's "Greedy Fang" attack), the opponent resolves all effects of their attack first — thus, they draw cards from their deck according to the attack before 2 cards are discarded from the top of their deck.[3]
