Release information
This card was included as both a Regular card and a Secret Rainbow Rare in the Darkness Ablaze expansion, first released in the Japanese Infinity Zone expansion. Both prints feature artwork by 5ban Graphics. It was reprinted as one of the SWSH Black Star Promos with different artwork by the same artist and was available in the Eternatus VMAX Premium Collection from September 4, 2020. A Jumbo version was also included in the box. In Japan, this print was released as one of the S-P Promotional cards and was available as part of the Eternatus Challenge Campaign, which began on June 5, 2020 in tandem with the release of the Infinity Zone expansion. Customers who purchased an Infinity Zone booster box at participating stores nationwide received a Mini Card Box and a Promo Card Pack containing one of five possible promotional cards.[1] The campaign ran for as long as stocks lasted. Due to a manufacturing error, the giveaways intended for distribution at Pokémon Centers, Pokémon Stores, and from the Pokémon Center Online were delayed.[2] Customers with an eligible purchase from the Pokémon Center Online had their gifts shipped separately after the end of June 2022; Pokémon Centers and Pokémon Stores eventually began to distribute the gifts from July 25, 2022, at which point the purchase conditions were expanded to include any TCG booster pack. The Japanese version of this print features the campaign logo on the right edge of the illustration.
The Darkness Ablaze Regular print was reprinted in the Japanese Shiny Star V subset, as was a Secret gold Full Art print, which also features artwork by 5ban Graphics. Outside Asia, the Secret gold print was included in the Shining Fates expansion. The Darkness Ablaze Regular print was reprinted again in the Japanese Zacian & Zamazenta vs Eternatus Special Deck Set and VMAX Climax subset. The VMAX Climax subset also included a Character Secret Rare print with artwork by Mitsuhiro Arita, which was subsequently released outside Asia in the Lost Origin expansion.
