Empoleon (Japanese: エンペルト Emperte) is a Water-type Level-Up Pokémon LV.X card. It was first released as part of the Diamond & Pearl expansion.

Once during your turn (before your attack), you may choose up to 2 cards from your opponent's hand without looking and put them face down next to the Defending Pokémon. (These cards are not in play or in your opponent's hand.) At the end of your opponent's next turn, return those cards to your opponent's hand. This power can't be used if Empoleon is affected by a Special Condition.

Choose 1 of your opponent's Pokémon. This attack does 80 damage to that Pokémon. (Don't apply Weakness and Resistance for Benched Pokémon.) Empoleon can't attack during your next turn.

Release information

This card was included in the Diamond & Pearl expansion with artwork by Shizurow, first released in the Japanese Space-Time Creation expansion. It was reprinted as one of the DP Black Star Promos with different artwork by the same artist, released in September 2007 as one of the cards available in the Diamond & Pearl Collector's Tins. The reprint featured English-exclusive artwork until it was released in Japan as one of two cards available in the Shining Darkness Special Pack.
