Celebi Tour
The Celebi Tour was a 2001 promotional event organized by Nintendo of Europe in which Celebi for Pokémon Gold and Silver could be obtained. The tour visited major cities across Europe between August and November 2001, and beyond the event distribution featured competitions and other events.

The event was promoted through a decorated truck known as the "Celebi Truck," which traveled from country to country. Each participant who entered the truck could obtain a event-exclusive Celebi by handing over their Pokémon Gold or Silver cartridge with one free slot in their party. A Nintendo staff member used a blue distribution machine to transfer Celebi instantly to the player's game.[1]
Participants received two additional gifts: a certificate of authenticity and a limited-edition 3D poster depicting all 250 Pokémon.[1]
In addition to the distribution, a Pokémon Stadium 2 tournament was held, where contestants used rental Pokémon to ensure fairness. The competition served to select 64 "Official Celebi Distributors". A distributor received a special Game Boy cartridge with 20 Celebi, which they could distribute to other players outside of the event. By returning the cartridge in time and trading for specific Pokémon, distributors could receive a copy of Pokémon Crystal. They could also enter the Pokémon Stadium 2 competition for even more prizes.[2][1][3][4]
