This card was included as both a Regular card and a Full Art card in the XY expansion, first released in the Japanese Collection Y. The Regular print features artwork by Eske Yoshinob, while the Full Art print features artwork by Ryo Ueda. In Japan, it was reprinted with the same Regular Art illustration as one of three XY-P Promotional cards available to those who took part in the Pokémon Card Game Summer Vacation Present Campaign's Gym Leader Challenge at Pokémon Center stores during the weekends of August 23-24 and 30-31. Players could battle Kalos Gym Leaders, earning one card of their choice for the battle whether they won or lost. This card was later reprinted with new artwork by Eske Yoshinob as one of the XY Black Star Promos available in the EX Power Trio Tins starting October 2014. This print was later released in Japan in the Kamex Mega Battle Special Pack on April 16, 2016.
For the Expansion Pack 20th Anniversary, the Regular print from XY and the promotional Full Art print were reprinted featuring the same artwork and an updated card template reminiscent of the Original Era layout. The Regular print was included in the Evolutions expansion.
In January 2018, an exclusive Water Web Holofoil version of the Regular print from XY was included in the Blastoise-EX Tin.
