Toxic Chain (Japanese: どくのくさり Toxic Chain) is an Ability introduced during Generation IX, in The Teal Mask. It is the signature Ability of the Loyal Three.

Effect

In battle

If a Pokémon with this Ability uses a non-status move, there is a 30% chance the target will become badly poisoned. Toxic Chain's chances also apply independently for each hit of a multistrike move. If this Ability triggers when using the move Knock Off on a target with a Lum or Pecha Berry, the Berry will be consumed to cure the poisoning instead of being removed by Knock Off's effect.

Outside of battle

Toxic Chain has no effect outside of battle.

• A Toxic Chain can be seen wrapped up around Okidogi's neck, Munkidori's head, and Fezandipiti's waist, the only Pokémon that have it as an Ability.
