I didn't go back to see why the edits have been reverted so that's my bad. | |||
I still very much disagree that Alain is the "primary" rival - I view Alain and Sawyer's rivalry with Ash to be equivalent. Alain's role in the Mega Evolution Specials are irrelevant to me in this context because those have nothing to do directly with the rivalry with Ash. Same with the PWC - they didn't even get to fight. | |||
Sawyer and Alain both had a roughly-equal number of battles of notable importance, and had solid interactions with Ash outside of that (Sawyer more so than Alain TBH), and both had big focus full-battles vs Ash in the Kalos League. One could argue that the Team Flare part in the Flare Arc could push that over, but I would disagree since that lasted like 10 minutes of them being on opposite sides. | |||
