Pokémon
Jenny first discovered Pokemon in mid 1998 when she found a poster of the original 150 in a teen magazine. She was fascinated with the creatures, and on first impressions alone, liked Hypno. It was a couple of months later when she watched her first episode, Challenge of the Samurai. Watching that episode alone, she fell in love with Pokemon and a little while later got her first game Blue.
After studying the manual, she chose Bulbasaur as her starter, while her first captured Pokemon was a Rattata. Jenny kept that Rattata, whom she later nicknamed Bronze, throughout her entire journey, and it became her favourite Pokemon, simply because it was the first one she ever caught. The old Blue game was evantually sold, but recently Jenny was able to get a Red to take its place.
A couple of years later, Silver came. This time Jenny chose Cyndaquil as her starter, and just like in Blue caught a Rattata as her first Pokemon. She was also very fond of her Lugia and Umbreon. Upon discovering her old Silver game back in 2006, Jenny was heartbroken to discover her beloved Silver game had reset. However upon discovering a used Crystal in a second hand shop, started playing that.
In the long wait between second and third generation games, and due to Jenny not discovering fandom yet, she fell out of Pokemon for a little while, however she still watched the anime and started to delve a little into fanfiction. Evantually Ruby/Sapphire came out, and Jenny fell in love with Pokemon again. As the games were a while away from the UK, Jenny first played Ruby on an emulator. Her starter was a Torchic, but she later chose Treecko when she got the actual game. Some of her favourite Hoenn Pokemon are Milotic, Mawile, Groudon and Shedinja.
It was around this time that she started discovering the main fandom (out of fanfiction.net). Despite this she never signed up on any forums, or never even really communicated with the fandom, pretty much just lurking around. Evantually she stopped watching the Advance Generation anime as it just wasn't interesting to her anymore. She has missed a lot of episodes that she has no intention on watching anytime soon. Not like it matters, everything important that happened in the anime she's learned right here in bulbapedia.
Finally in 2006, Diamond and Pearl were nearing release. Jenny kept up with all the new info on Serebii, and bought the Japanese version of Pearl when it was released (although she wouldn't get until December that year thanks to the site she ordered from losing her first copy). She choose Piplup as her starter and went blindly through her game, unable to understand a damn thing, and evantually getting so lost that she begrudginly went and found a walkthrough for the rest of the game. Later getting the European released of both Diamond and Pearl, she only uses her Japanese game now for exploitation of the surf glitch. Some of her favourite Sinnoh Pokemon are Lucario, Arceus, Shaymin and Froslass. Jenny also fell back in love with the anime recently, thanks to Dawn and the, in her opinion, awesome Diamond/Pearl series. She desperately hopes that Dawn will get a Froslass to go with Ash's Glalie.
