The Birth of Mewtwo (Japanese: Mewtwo no Tanjō) is a CD Drama that only appeared in Japan. It was released in 1998, few months later than the premiere of Mewtwo Strikes Back in Japanese cinemas. I was also adapted to an anime-special that it was dubbed into English. The special appears in the DVD of Mewtwo Returns.

Plot

The CD Drama is divided into five parts:

  • The Phantom: Mew (Maboroshi no Mew).
  • The Birth of Mewtwo (Mewtwo no Tanjō).
  • Mewtwo and Amber (Mewtwo to Ai).
  • The Strongest Pokémon of the World (Sekai Maxim Tsuyo no Pokémon).
  • Mewtwo Strikes Back (Mewtwo no Gyakūshu).
