The Birth of Mewtwo (Japanese: Mewtwo no Tanjō) is a CD drama that only appeared in Japan. It was released in 1998, a few months after the premiere of Mewtwo Strikes Back in Japanese cinemas. It was also adapted to an anime special that was dubbed into English. The special appears in the DVD of Mewtwo Returns.
Plot
The CD drama is divided into five parts:
- The Mirage: Mew (Maboroshi no Mew).
- The Birth of Mewtwo (Mewtwo no Tanjō).
- Mewtwo and Amber (Mewtwo to Ai).
- The Strongest Pokémon of the World (Sekai Maxim Tsuyo no Pokémon).
- Mewtwo Strikes Back (Mewtwo no Gyakūshu).
