Unlock

How would it be represented if the friend area doesn't have to be bought to be unlocked, but through a different method? Turtwig A (talk | contribs) 19:46, 31 December 2009 (UTC)

Tell that it must be unlocked next to "Method of Obtainment". ex.: "Unlock through rescue mission" or something like that. If you can improve anything, go ahead.--Smartkidhen 21:51, 2 January 2010 (UTC)
If it is obtained from a mission the put price=reward, and it will change to "obtained". If obtained by recruiting a Pokémon then put price=recruit and then use the parameter poké to name the Pokémon. Werdnae (talk) 19:36, 6 January 2010 (UTC)

Usage

Sky Blue Plains あおぞらそうげん
Blue Sky Plains
Sky Blue Plains.png
Predominant type: Normal
Capacity: 13
Method to obtain: Reward from mission
Friend Area

As of the time this message was posted the template has the following parameters:
type: the predominant type of Pokémon in the friend area. Also changes colours of template. Must be capitalised so that it displays properly in the predominant type field.
name: the English name.
jname: The japanese name. Defaults to Unknown.
jtrans: the romanisation of the japanese name. Defaults to Unknown.
other_info: Other info, only if required.
image: The picture of the friend area.
image_size:The size of the picture. Defaults to 250px.
caption: Caption for the image. Defaults to the name of the friend area.
capacity: Number of Pokémon that can live there.
price: price of area at Wigglytuff's shop. Put the number only. If obtained from a mission put reward. If obtained by recruiting a Pokémon then put recruit.
poké: The Pokémon that must be recruited to obtain the friend area if obtained in such a way. Otherwise leave blank.

For example, for Sky Blue Plains, the page would have: {{FA Infobox|type=Normal|name=Sky Blue Plains|jname=あおぞらそうげん|jtrans=Blue Sky Plains|image=Sky Blue Plains.png|capacity=13|price=reward}}, whick would display as shown on the right. Werdnae (talk) 19:36, 6 January 2010 (UTC)

Just an update: The predominant type now defaults to None, with the ???-type colours, and if there is no image then leave the image parameter out and it will display Noimage.gif at 90 px. Other images still default to 250px. Werdnae (talk) 20:43, 18 January 2010 (UTC)

Alternate recruit method

Anyone who wants to make that an optional column, that'd be nice. ht14 22:52, 18 January 2010 (UTC)

You mean how some are obtained through the starters? If so, done. New parameters listed below
  • starter1: Use for the first (or only) starter by ndex number in that Friend Area. If none leave out.
  • partner1: Yes if First or only starter in area can also be a partner. No if only starter in area can't be partner.
  • starter2: Second starter by ndex number. Leave out if only one starter.
  • partner2: Yes if Second Starter can also be starter. No if second starter is Psyduck. If three starters in area leave out.
  • starter3: Use for third starter in area. Leave out otherwise.
I'll add these to the necessary friend areas. Werdnae (talk) 01:44, 19 January 2010 (UTC)
Personally, I think it's WAY too wordy... And Ndex number doesn't work... ht14 01:48, 19 January 2010 (UTC)
Help needed... I got everything down pact except for Energetic Forest (3). ht14 02:10, 19 January 2010 (UTC)
Finally, clean. *sigh of relief* ht14 02:14, 19 January 2010 (UTC)
*belatedly joins sigh of relief* By the way, by Ndex number, I was just refering to the order to put the Pokémon in, rather than to put in the Ndex number. Just in case some noob tried to help and ended up doubling our workload.
I think we were lucky that the first starter in a friend area (by Ndex number) can always be a partner if there is more than one starter in the friend area, otherwise it would have got even more confusing. And, there are no two-starter friend areas that have two non-partner starters, and there is only one friend area with three starters. If there were more combinations I think we would probably still be trying to iron out the bugs. Werdnae (talk) 09:26, 19 January 2010 (UTC)

Update for Rescue Team DX

Some of the friend areas were renamed in Rescue Team DX, and there are now 2-D graphics instead of overworld sprites. We should modify this template to accommodate two graphics, and the original and new name, if applicable. Qzekrom (talk) 17:05, 13 March 2020 (UTC)
