Generation I had no Trainer classes, and when battling Oak, he is named simply "Prof. Oak". The article seems to state that Pokémon Prof. came from FRLG, but that is contrary to most of that section. If this is true, I would suggest putting info about that unused Trainer class on Pokémon professor and making the section here specifically about "Prof. Oak" in Generation I. --<span style="color:#A70000">Snorlax</span><span style="color:#0000A7">Monster</span> 06:42, 30 December 2010 (UTC)

It's impossible to read the [show]/[hide] link on the Pokémon table, it kept me guessing how to expand it.
I know it's related to the template but I don't know which one it's. --Rafaelluik 21:44, 9 January 2012 (UTC)

Glitch Trainers with normal teams

I read somewhere that you can fight Prof. Oak with his actual team by doing the Ditto Trick with a special of 226, then using Growl on Ditto six times. This brings Ditto's attack modifier from 7 (unmodified) to 1 (down six stages). If the Special Stat (in this case 226) had been a normal Pokemon, this modifier would have affected its Level, but for a Trainer, it instead loads the team number. Prof. Oak in this case has three teams, each with a different final starter, so using Growl four, five, or six times would work (a modifier of 3, 2, or 1). If the modifier was 4 or higher, the game instead loads glitch data for Prof. Oak's "fourth team" (doesn't exist), resulting in glitch stuff. This might work with other Trainers, but I haven't tested it out. Blueapple128 03:01, 31 December 2009 (UTC)

Yes, all of this is true. Gary is an exception however, because he has several teams all occupying different identifiers (i.e. special stats). Regarding whether Gary has Jolteon,Vaporeon or Flareon on Pokémon Yellow that relates to another byte which will normally range from 1 to 3. It will be defined sometime in the game, so if you skip straight to Gary at the beginning of the game he will have a glitch team =D. --Chickasaurus 16:15, 12 March 2010 (UTC)

Old Man glitch, reply

A reply to a question asked by SnorlaxMonster;

The second, fourth and fifth and sixth characters (can follow on systematically for names like 'RED(end)ASH(end)JAC...' from the new game screen) normally change the level of the respective wild Pokémon to match the hexadecimal identifier of that character, by respective: (i.e. level of Pokémon index number corresponding to third, fifth or seventh) character. For a trainer, those characters would change this the roster value, e.g. 'A' as the second character would make Professor Oak use his 128th team if (MN) was the third character.
You're right, in theory, you would be able to make Professor Oak use a valid team if that second, fourth, fifth, sixth character was of identifier 01, 02 or 03, but those identfiers are never used for valid characters, so Professor Oak is always going to use an invalid roster via that method. --Chickasaurus 11:46, 17 July 2010 (UTC)

Jacred

Idea just popped into my head: anyone else think the glitch trainer name "Jacred" comes from the default names "Jack" and "Red"? --ZestyCactus 07:51, 10 October 2010 (UTC)

Yes, I do. That is probably what it is. --SnorlaxMonster 09:35, 10 October 2010 (UTC)
