Professor Westwood is a one-time character in the Pokémon anime who appeared in The Evolution Solution. His English voice actor is Matt Sussman.
The inventor of the Pokédex, he is the fifth in the line of Westwoods. When Ash and his friends met up with him on Seafoam Island, he was trying to figure out how a Slowpoke evolves into a Slowbro. With the help of Jessie's Shellder, Westwood discovered exactly how that happened. When the Shellder bit down on Slowpoke's tail, the Pokémon evolved.
Professor Westwood admitted to Ash that he made up some of the information in the Pokédex, as he did not know most of it.
