A Officer or Policeman (Japanese: おまわりさん Policeman) is a type of Pokémon trainer that first debuted in the Generation II games. They are police officers with flashlights and nightsticks that only battle at night. In some ways, their counterpart is the Jogger class which can only be battled in the morning.

They specialize in using Growlithe in Generation II. In Generation IV they use a combination of Hoothoot and various Template:Type2 Pokémon.

Although they weren't trainers, they also appeared as guards to Saffron City and tried to arrest a Team Rocket Grunt in Vermilion City in Pokémon Red and Blue, and their remakes Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen.

In the Pokémon Special manga

In Buzz Off, Electabuzz! a couple of officers made a cameo when the Pokémon kidnapped by Lt. Surge were returned to their original trainers.
