Like [[Team Rocket]], they have a motto, but consider themselves to be heroes despite their dubious methods. Although they don't use Pokémon of their own, they have a variety of scientifically advanced equipment and gadgets including bulldozers, jetpacks, robots, and rocket launchers which they build themselves using tools from the bag that Mary carries.
In their first appearance, Mary and Ken were trying to capture a {{p|Cleffa}} that had fallen from a spacecraft. They wanted to see where it had come from. {{Ash}} and {{Ashfr|his friends}}, not wanting Cleffa to be harmed, tried to stop them from taking it. Ash sent his {{AP|Phanpy}} to protect Cleffa. The young Pokémon successfully brought Cleffa home to its spacecraft and away from Mary's grasp.

Their goal seems to be to do whatever it takes to conclusively prove that Pokémon are extraterrestrial lifeforms, which causes them to be motivated into capturing and stealing Pokémon species which have relations to outer space, such as {{p|Cleffa}} and {{p|Lunatone}}.
When Mary and Ken reappeared in [[AG087|Crazy as a Lunatone!]], they were up to their old tricks again. This time, they wanted to capture a {{p|Lunatone}}. Just like last time, they were sent blasting off.

Mary (Japanese: メリー Mery) is a member of the Pokémon Mystery Club. Along with her partner Ken, they try to solve Pokémon mysteries. Their main mission is to prove that Pokémon came from space. Her Japanese voice actresses are Rumi Ochiai (EP246) and Naomi Shindo (AG087).

In their first appearance, Mary and Ken were trying to capture a Cleffa that had fallen from a spacecraft. They wanted to see where it had come from. Ash and his friends, not wanting Cleffa to be harmed, tried to stop them from taking it. Ash sent his Phanpy to protect Cleffa. The young Pokémon successfully brought Cleffa home to its spacecraft and away from Mary's grasp.

When Mary and Ken reappeared in Crazy as a Lunatone!, they were up to their old tricks again. This time, they wanted to capture a Lunatone. Just like last time, they were sent blasting off.
