Pallet Town

Pallet Town (Japanese: マサラタウン Masara Town) is where players of Generation I games start their Pokémon journeys in Kanto, as well as several other notable trainers.

There, they can receive either a Bulbasaur, Charmander, or Squirtle from Professor Oak. The exception to this was for Ash Ketchum, who got Pikachu from Oak because he woke up late the day he was supposed to get his Trainer's License.

Other trainers who've left Pallet Town include Gary Oak, Hajime, Red and Green. In the Pokémon Special manga, Pallet Town is famous for being the hometown of many great trainers, including Professor Oak.

Immediately south of Pallet Town is an waterway, Route 21. North of Pallet is Route 1.

Wild Pokémon can be found in Pallet Town in the small body of water to the south.
