Nintendo are a game company based in Kyoto, Japan. They're well known for such giant franchises as Mario, Zelda and of course, Pokémon.
They are recognised as one of (if not the) largest producer of video games and have sold more than one billion video games to date.
They were founded in 1889 by Fusajiro Yamauchi, producing playing cards initially.
The current director is Satoru Iwata.
