Nintendo is a game company based in Kyoto, Japan. It is well known for such giant franchises as Mario, Zelda and of course, Pokémon. It was founded in 1889 by Fusajiro Yamauchi; at this time, it produced playing cards. Its current president is Satoru Iwata.
It is recognised as one of (if not the) largest producer of video games and has sold more than one billion video games to date.
