A Rocket Executive (Japanese: ロケットだんいんのかんぶ Team Rocket Executive Member) is a type of Pokémon Trainer that first debuted in the Generation II games. They are the heads of Team Rocket after Giovanni abandons the organization. There are two of them, a man and a woman. In the games, they are unnamed; however in the Pokémon Special manga, they are called Keane and Chermaine. In the games, the male disbands Team Rocket after he is defeated for the final time.

They tend to use a combination of Template:Type2 and Template:Type2 Pokémon.

Their appearances share some similarities with Jessie and James: the male has blue hair while the female has red hair and facial features similar to Jessie's.

The trainer class will make a return in the Gold and Silver remakes, Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver, as they were shown in the opening of the games at a demo in Japan. In these games, the class is called Executive Staff. Four characters appear, two in black uniforms and two in white. The male and female in white uniforms look very similar to their Generation II counterparts.

The four staff members in the remakes are named Lance, Lambda, Athena, and Apollo. Athena and Apollo are the ones who appear to be based off of the original Executives. All four are named after real-life rocket crafts.

Trivia

  • Though Rocket Executives are higher in rank than Rocket Grunts, the background theme played when fighting them is the same as that for a normal Trainer battle, rather than the Team Rocket battle theme. It is unknown why this is the case.
