EX Delta Species (Japanese: Researching Tower of Holon) was the 11th EX expansion set for the Pokémon Trading Card Game. It was the first expansion to feature δ Delta Species.

Set size

Delta Species will contain an unknown number of cards in its Japanese release, and 114 cards in the English Language release. The Japanese set was released alongside three different "Half Deck Halves", containing another 29 cards.

26th English Language set and 29th set in Japan.

• October 7th - Japanese "Half Deck Halves"
• October 28th - Japanese main expansion
• November 4th - English Language commercial relase

However the Prereleases for the English Language set were held starting from the 22nd of October, making this the first set in history to be revealed for the first time outside of Japan.

Miscellaneous

• Delta Species introduced the concept of δ Delta Species. These Pokémon possesed unusual types, always being partially Metal in their fully evolved forms, so may be considered the counterpart to Dark Pokemon in the EX series.
• This set contained only 3 Pokémon-ex, a record low for any set in the EX series.
• This set was the first to use the same kind of foil for both the Holo Rares and the Parallel Foils.
• According to the set backstory, the Researching Tower is located in the middle of Eidolon Forest and was originally assigned the task of researching Mew. However the English Language release of Eidolon Forest was pushed back to 2006 to coincide with the English release of the 8th Movie, as was the case with EX Deoxys, so this information was absent from the English Language release of Delta Species.
