Synopsis

Holy Titanic! After Ash and his friends foiled Team Rocket's evil plan to steal all the Pokémon from the passengers on the St. Anne, the St. Anne capsizes and sinks to the bottom of the sea after a storm. Although the other passengers on the St. Anne escaped, Ash, Misty, Brock, Pikachu, Jessie, James and Meowth are trapped onboard the sunken cruise ship. Officer Jenny believes that Ash and company and Team Rocket have died due to the St. Anne sinking, and holds a sea funeral right near the site where the St. Anne sank.

Onboard the St. Anne, Ash and his friends, and Team Rocket discover their predicament and need to devise an escape plan. Although Ash and Brock battle Team Rocket at first, Misty quells their fighting and demands a truce between the two groups, that way, they will be able to escape. Misty tells everyone she built a model of the St. Anne-- that is how she learned all about the structure of the ship. Since the path to the deck is blocked after Jessie's Ekans burned open a hole on the ship with its Acid, the group must climb up to the bottom of the ship and cut a hole in the hull to escape. Brock calls out his Onix and the group uses Onix's hard stone skin as a staircase to reach the next hallway.

The group heads for the area where the ship's hull is the thinnest-- the engine room. But they couldn't cross to the engine room because it was on fire. Ash sends out his Bulbasaur and Bulbasaur creates a bridge using its Vine Whip. James is too scared to go, until Jessie and Meowth calm him down. Afterwards, Ash and his friends are on the other side of the room, with Bulbasaur. Team Rocket tells them to send back the vines.

Cut to a commerical.

After Team Rocket crosses the room, they are in the engine room with Ash and company. Ash sends out his Charmander and orders Charmander to burn through the ship's hull with its Flamethrower. Just as Charmander finishes welding through the ship's hull, Ash quickly retreats Charmander and sends out his Squirtle and Misty sends out her Goldeen and Starmie. Ash and company swim to safety with Squirtle, Starmie and Goldeen (Ash and Pikachu with Squirtle, Misty using Goldeen and Brock using Misty's Starmie, respectively). However, Jessie, James and Meowth don't have any Water Pokémon to escape, but James still has the Magikarp he brought, but it turns out Magikarp can't swim. The ship fills up with water, then sinks to the bottom of the ocean, taking Team Rocket with it. Although, they still survived.

On the surface, Ash and company build a raft using some of the parts of the St. Anne's hull. Ash and company notice Team Rocket has not surfaced. There's nothing for Ash and company to do now, except try to find dry land. Ash sends out his Pidgeotto and tells it to bring back whatever it finds. Pidgeotto finds Team Rocket drowning on the high seas and brings them to the raft. Ash and company believe that Team Rocket perished after a failed escape attempt and are about to give them a burial at sea, until they notice they are still alive.

Ash and company start to grow hungry, and decide to eat James's Magikarp, but the Magikarp wasn't good for eating. Furious, James kicked his Magikarp out to sea. Then the Magikarp evolves into Gyarados!!! Misty sends out her Goldeen, Staryu and Starmie and has them pull the raft out to sea. The Gyarados chases the group and stops. Only it hasn't given up the chase, it's getting ready for its most powerful attack: DRAGON RAGE!!! The cyclone swallows up the group. What's going to happen next?! Find out in the next episode!
