The Daycare Couple (known individually as Daycare Man and Daycare Lady) offers trainers to raise their Pokémon. A different pair appeared in every game since their debut in Generation II.
In the games
The Daycare Couple gives the player the only way to breed Pokémon, which has been an important aspect of the games ever since Generation II.
In the Pokémon Special manga
When they were young, they were good friends with Professor Oak, Agatha, Kurt, and Pryce. The Daycare Lady was also a great singer, and she sang the song "Riding On The Stars" to cheer Pryce up when his Lapras died. She also had trained Gold by making him do the chores in the Daycare Center.
