The Daycare Lady and her husband offer trainers to raise their Pokémon. She appeared in every game since her debut in Generation II.

In the games

She and her husband give the player the only way to breed Pokémon, which has been an important aspect of the games ever since Generation II.

In the manga

When she and her husband were young, they were good friends with Professor Oak, Agatha, Kurt and Pryce. She was also a great singer, and she sang the "Riding On The Stars" to cheer Pryce up when his Lapras died. She also had trained Gold by making him do the chores in the Daycare Center.
