Trivia
- The title is a pun of the phrase "school days".
- An earlier episode has a similar dub title.
- This is the first time that music from The Rise of Darkrai is used as background music.
- An updated version of the music from the Sealed Chamber, Desert Ruins, Island Cave and Ancient Tomb in Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald is used.
- Template:Type2s introduced in each of the four generations appeared in this episode.
- Coincidentally, in the previous episode Up Close and Personable!, scenes of hypnotic trance are featured as well.
- In one scene, Ash mentioned to Pikachu to just count to ten when a Haunter grabbed Shinx's tail. This could refer to a Japanese myth about a ghost who is unable to count to ten, then suddenly disappears.
- After Dusknoir is knocked out, the ghostly girl smirks before opening a vortex. During the smirk, stock audio of a Mew cry can be heard.
Errors
- In one scene, Professor Rowan's neck and ear are the same color as his hair.
Dub edits
- Dango is called a fried cakeball skew.
