Barlow (Japanese: Barō) is the muscle-bound leader of the Vientown ranger base and a graduate of the Ranger School. He is notably the first African American Pokémon character with a prominent role. His partner is a Makuhita.
He is unique among rangers with the fact he will do a Target Clear without a Pokémon, but rather use brute force while yelling TARGET CLEAR. This is first seen after the player rescues him on Team Dim Sun's Cargo Ship, where he crashes through locked doors.
