The Battle round is an anime exclusive round in a Pokémon Contest. The contestants are required to battle each other while still making their moves look beautiful. There are 5 minutes per round, except in Sudden Death, where there is no time limit.

Scoring

  1. Each contestant starts with a fixed number of points.
  2. You lose points when:
    1. An oppenent's move hits your Pokémon.
    2. Your move misses.
    3. Your move doesn't look beautiful.

Winning a Contest Battle

You win if any of the following happens:

  1. You have more points when time runs out.
  2. Your oppenent loses all their points.
  3. Your oppenent's Pokémon faints.

If there is a tie when time runs out, the Battle goes into Sudden Death.

Sudden Death

Sudden Death is an extension of the battle if there is a tie at the end of 5 minutes. There is no time limit in Sudden Death. The round ends when one person runs out of points.
