The Neo Introduction Set is a special Deck Kit for the Pokémon Trading Card Game and was released in Japan only.

Release Date

  • The set was released in April 2001.

Trivia

  • This set was conceived to introduce people to the TCG. It is similar in most respects to the first Introduction Set, except there is no introduction video.
  • The majority of the cards found in this set are from Neo 1. None of the cards have rarity symbols (as is the case with all Japanese cards from fixed sets), making these more valuable than the normal Neo 1 cards.
  • This was the first set to introduce the idea of Half Decks and Side Decks, although they were not officially referred as those at the time.
  • As with the cards in the first Introduction Set, these cards have their own numbering system, featuring a black circle in the bottom right corner with the card number in white. The only exceptions to this are the 10-card Side Decks.
  • In addition to the decks, the set contains a rulebook, damage counters, generic counters, a custom coin (Chansey) and playmat.
