Synopsis

Ash and Paul advance into the semi-final. However, due to Chimchar not being able to adjust its battle status perfectly, Paul releases Chimchar! On seeing that, Ash tells Chimchar "Let's have a journey and become stronger together!", and then captures Chimchar.

• Chimchar joins Ash's team.
• Ash and Paul will verse Brock and Hanoka. Whoever wins, will advance to the finals.
• Should Dawn and Kōhei, either Ash, Dawn or Brock will win the tag battle competition. There's a 3 in four chance of a protagonist winning.
• Paul's Elekid evolves into Electabuzz.
